Narrative
DUPLIN CO., NC – Two people died, and a third sustained injuries Thursday in a two-vehicle crash in southeast Duplin County.
The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. in the area of Ludie Brown Road and Willie Hatcher Road, which is just east of Chinquapin.
Police say that a Jeep and a commercial truck collided in the intersection when the driver of the Jeep neglected to heed a stop sign.
Authorities declared the two occupants of the Jeep deceased at the scene. They’ve not yet released the victim’s names to the public.
Medics transported the truck driver to an area hospital with non-critical injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
